Director of New Business Development / Independent Consultant - Dietary Supplement Industry

Summary: Fortress Nutrition, a contract manufacturer of dietary supplement and food products, is seeking a HIGHLY MOTIVATED Independent Sales Executive to join the team. This person should have demonstrated success selling contract manufacturing services and/or food/dietary supplement products. They should be a fearless cold caller who is able to work independently to identify and reach out to prospects, managing the opportunity through the sales process to closed business.

Location: Fortress Nutrition is located in New Berlin, WI but this role can be based anywhere in the US.

What You'll Do:
  • Sell contract manufacturing (ingredient sourcing, blending, and/or packaging), logistics, and fulfillment services to the dietary supplements and food product industry.
  • Identify target customers by using the web and doing retail research.
  • Contact prospects by phone, email, and the web to engage in a discussion and understand opportunities.
  • Qualify opportunities according to manufacturing capabilities, FDA regulations, and customer needs.
  • Create a multi-year strategy for growing the business according to corporate objectives.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with other departments to achieve goals and ensure an excellent customer experience.
  • Develop in-depth industry contacts, networks, and relationships to advance Fortress Nutrition's services in the marketplace.
  • Manage pricing and contract negotiations with customers.
  • Understand market environment, competition, needs, and opportunities that will give us a competitive advantage.
  • Establish marketing activities and trade show participation to maximize brand exposure and engage potential customers.
  • Analyze operating results relative to established objectives ensuring that necessary actions are taken to achieve business goals.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in business, sales, marketing, food science, or a related field required.
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in contract manufacturing and/or food or dietary supplement sales.
  • "Hunter" sales style; personality that thrives on identifying and closing new business. Motivated by uncapped commission earnings.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% for business development activities including client visits, trade shows, etc.
  • Experience using CRM software to track interactions and forecast value of potential and closed business.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
