Summary: Under the direction of the HR Department Head, supports all business areas with multi-function Human resource responsibility including but not limited to; develop policy, directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, and training, compliance, and employee services.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for shop hourly, manager, exempt and professional roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
  • Monitor 60 day orientation period for new employees and schedule and conduct benefit meetings
  • Administer an effective employee relations program aimed at employee involvement and the commitment to customer service through continuous improvement in quality, service and productivity
  • Assist with preparation for union contract negotiations and may act as a member of the management team to bargain, mediate, arbitrate and settle day to day grievances; interpret contract language and ensure that supervisory personnel are well informed to administer the provisions effectively
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Responsible for the Human Resource department operating procedures, record systems and the preparation of periodic reports and summaries to keep management appraised of activities
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution on employee relations issues; lead the corrective action process for hourly employees
  • Advise department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Assist with Safety and environmental training, compliance, administration, and accident avoidance
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned
 
What We're Looking For:
  •  5+ years of Human Resource Management in Manufacturing environment required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
  • HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
  •  Prior experience with Bargaining Unit and Union Contract Negotiations preferred
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel graphs, pivot table, formulas, etc.
  •  Excellent verbal, writing, and interpersonal communication skills
  •  Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  •  Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
